Hey y’all! My name is Catherine and welcome to the (512) Reel! I can talk anyone’s ear off about film and TV so I figured a blog would be the perfect place to do that. Also I wanted to have a place people can come together to share a common passion for film and TV.
Some fun facts about me…I have a collection of over 300 DVDs and yes I still buy DVDs because one day when there is no Internet I will have some form of entertainment. Also, I have a secret guilty pleasure for musicals, especially Rock of Ages and Hairspray #noshame.
Some of my favorite films include: The Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind, Mandy, Blade Runner, Drive, Superbad, Pinapple Express and anything that is directed by David Lynch.
As for TV I course love The Office because who doesn’t love that show, Twin Peaks, The Haunting of Hill House, and Mad Men. I sprinkle some Below Deck: Mediterranean, Real Housewives, and Vanderpump Rules in there as well for my guilty pleasures.
My love of film started at a young age, I would always watch movies with my mom and has always been a tradition for us to watch a movie each night before going to bed. That tradition still continues today and has encouraged me to not only enjoy watching films but has allowed me take a deeper look into the story, what the movie represents or means and what I can take away from it.
This is what this blog is about is just me talking about film, TV and industry news that I find interesting, relevant and what I enjoy watching and talking about.
